If you are interested in becoming a member of the Order of the Mustard Seed (OMS) there is a two-step preparation process to discern where God is leading you.
Step One: Season of Exploration
The Season of Exploration involves a time of self-directed study of resources that help you in your discernment process lasting a period as short as three to six months or so, or as long as you feel necessary to prepare yourself. You can find the recommended reading list here. This is a time of getting familiar with the 24-7 Prayer Movement and the Order of the Mustard Seed, as well as discerning if you should take the next steps into the Season of Preparation.
Following your self-directed learning you are invited to join one of the online Welcome Webinars.
Book into one of the upcoming webinars for this year’s intake
When these two elements are completed, you are ready to apply for the season of Preparation which is done through a discernment session with our Spiritual directors team which you will be invited to apply for following your webinar.
Step Two: Season of Preparation.
The Season of Preparation is a structured cohort-based curriculum that is facilitated by an OMS leader that lasts from December to September. This is the Season of Preparation to discern if OMS vows are appropriate.
There is a cost involved in facilitating the Season of Preparation and we ask for means tested approach to paying in the range of £100 – £200. We would never want cost to be a limiting factor in joining the order and a bursary application form is available upon request
If you are sensing that God is inviting you to join the Order, and you feel confident that you can commit to the time required. Please view the Season of Exploration FAQ page for more details.
We pray that God will lead you in this journey.
